I just purchased 2 new front rotors for my 90 Honda civic DX. I have yet to install them. They have a silver finish to them and are cross-drilled and slotted. I got them from Summit racing for $150. I just read Habib's message and was wondering if anyone out there has any exp. with these rotors. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

they are known to warp. you should return them and get some brembos at www.groupbuycenter.com. good luck

I have the slotted ones and they are great. had the for about 9 monts still straight and they hel stop the car quick. I love em. make sure you get a Good brake pad though. something like AEM.
as for warping the leadin cause for rotor warp is overtight lug nuts. I insist to have my lugs tighten with a torque wrench and they last.
another thing I remember reading something about powerslot Using Brembo Rotors and slotting/cross drilling them. i'm trying to remember where though.

yeah i think i am gonna have to sleep outside of blockbuster..lol, no but really i have the powerstop rotors on my 2000 civic and i love them, you shoutld realy read the direcs on the rotors they will tell you what kinda brake bads you need, and get the braded brake lines. they help big time, and theres nothing wrong with the powerstop they are not mad for raceing there just mad to be way better then you stock ones. good luck!!!

I will continue to bad mouth Powerstop. They are show discs and can't take real use. They offer no warantee on their product and they don't stand up to serious driving. I fried a set of them within months of putting them on and that was on the street.

Many product offer no waranty.
Neuspeed is a prime example, their products offer no waranty against defect, because they are considered for "race/high-performance" applications.
if you only buy stuff with waranties... you must not own much.

I buy from people who stand by their product. Powerstop does not. EBC does. I got no response from Powerstop but got personal e-mails from EBC for advice.
The most common reason for rotor warpage is rotors that can't take the heat being put into them. Crap rotors warp sooner.
PS: My wheels are always torqued to 80 ft-lbs.

My Rotors are actualy PowerSLOT not powerStop. these are the ones that use Brembo Rotors and slot them. these are 2 different companies.

Nah, for street use you should be fine. If your autocrossing, road racing, or braking as hard as you can most of the time...then you might want to send them back...like now. But follow Kunundrum, you should be ok for the most part...if they warp...then get bremos
then with the cash you save buy NAAWWSSSS!!!!.....sorry I've been tellin all my friends that lately...Fast n' Furious will be out in DVD in a month gotta get ready know what I mean?
